Mirin
Mirin is a weakly sweet seasoning similar to sake, made from Japanese distilled spirits and rice malt. It used to adding sweetness, shine, and luster to food.
Mentsuyu
This soup is used for Japanese noodles and is made mainly of soy sauce, Japanese soup stock, sake, mirin and sugar. Generally, 'Mentsuyu' called in Japan is ready-made products that is double or triple concentration. When using 'Mentsuyu', it is diluted with water.
1.Marinate the meat
Make a marinade of sugar,soy sauce,mirin,and grated ginger/garlic,marinate the pork,cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
2.Stir-fry
Put the pork with the marinade in a frying pan over medium heat. When browned,turn off the heat and remove the pork.
*Leave the marinade in the pan.
3.Stir-fry
Add the desired amount of broth with Mentsuyu to the frying pan and heat over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
4.Stir fry
Add onion to frying pan and stir fry over medium heat until golden brown.
5.Serve rice
Place rice in a slightly larger bowl.
6.Put
Put the stir-fried onions on top of the rice.
7.Put
Put shredded cabbage on top of the rice.
8.Cut meat
Cut the stir-fried pork into bite-size pieces and put on rice.
